Here’s the thing about in home lifestyle shoots, no matter what happens, it’s going to be great. I understand how we all want that perfect picture of our perfect kids, our perfect home and our perfect life together. But let’s be real, life with young children is pretty chaotic. And that’s ok.
I get it.
I love it.
All of it.
And I love photographing it.
The chaos doesn’t bother me. If your kids throw a fit, I promise I won’t judge you in the least. If your kids tell me to go away, I won’t get offended. In fact, I might have to look away so I can laugh at it. If your kid is upset, let me capture that face. If your kids want to do silly faces, let them. I want to capture it. I promise years later those are the pictures that will make you feel something.
And speaking of in home sessions, I loved being with this amazing family!
Ok, first off, let me just say that I had serious urges to squeeze Miss Ellie’s cheeks like you wouldn’t believe. But because of stupid serious Covid I didn’t. But I mean, look. Her cheeks. They droop. And her eyes, I promise I didn’t touch them up. They are for real.
Her brother, Declan, had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt. He was an explosion of personality and Ellie was very much amused by him as well.
I met them when Ellie was born last summer in the middle of the new Covid Way of life. It was the first newborn session that I didn’t touch or pose the baby. Her mom was amazing and followed my directions! :) I was so happy to see them again.
And like I was just saying about these in home sessions, here there were moments of jumping, crying, picking the nose (my favorite), laughing, kissing, being crazy and loud.
It was just perfect.
P.S. Don’t you love the picture Declan took of his gorgeous mom? He took it during the mini photography lesson. :)
